The most valuable relationship you may have is knowing Jesus the Son of God personally.  When Jesus died on the cross, he also rose again to life by the power of the resurrection.  Jesus did this so that his righteous work before God speaks with the Father in your place.  In other words, Jesus' death on the cross removes sin and guilt from being attributed to your account. This is why the Bible says that Jesus is an 'intercessor,' one praying, for those who personally trust and know Him.

You can make a decision to place trust in Jesus to save you and give you a new heart and a new life (Romans 6:4).  The Bible tells us that Jesus desires to free men and women from the dark path of trying to make up life on your own.

It is not complicated to express faith in Jesus to change you, nor is it 'getting religion.'  Rather, when you decide to put your trust in him, God's power is in your heart to give you new, pure desires.  He has promised that the Holy Spirit will help you live for him in a fresh start.  The idea of this salvation being worked by Jesus on your behalf is throughout the Bible.  So is the idea that we cannot impress God by our own works (Ephesians 2:8, 9; Romans 3:23).  So in that situation where a Holy God had our sins before Him, Christ stepped in to save us.  "For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly."-- Romans 5:6.

The Bible says that a person expresses faith to accept this offer.  One way is in a simple prayer of trust you offer to the LORD.  Something that is close to this verse is a good start:  "If you confess with your mouth that 'Jesus is Lord' and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."-- Romans 10:9

Of course, Jesus as 'Lord' means you want a change of mind to live out His plan for you.  If he cared so much for us, then with a new perspective, we want to live for him.

To find out more, come visit Sundays @ 10:45 am.

While you're there ask one of our pastors more about how you can have a personal relationship with Jesus.  We also encourage you to read this even now, and invite Jesus into your life.  God wants you to be fulfilled and whole in that relationship.  Let us know on Sunday if you made this life changing decision.  We will then encourage you with any questions you may have about reading the Bible, God's plan for us, and more.

What does church have to do with anything?

A good next step is to attend worship services on a regular basis in order to be strengthened through the Word of God being shared, as is mentioned in the Book of Hebrews, 10:25.  When you're comfortable we encourage you to consider joining a small group Bible study with others to stay encouraged and to be able to help others with their spiritual growth as well.

Grace to you!
