What to Expect ...
You will find Woodbridge Bible Fellowship is a welcoming group. People coming to a new church have an excitement about them. There's a refreshing atmosphere.
Worship. The worship is relevant and authentic. We choose the best God-honoring songs and lyrics in contemporary Christian music (google search CCLI) to connect and build us up in the faith. We mix these lyrics with great talent in the worship service to bring us into a valued experience. Our promise to you is to offer the Bible's depth, by the Holy Spirit, and with the joy of songs in our culture's language today. This is the kind of place you can invite friends to and they will not be alienated.
Messages. Sunday messages are solidly based in the Bible. The messages are genuinely applicable to daily life with God's timeless truth. In the Bible, God has given us what we need for life questions and godliness of heart and mind (2nd Peter 1:3; also 1st Timothy 4:11). Each message is delivered to challenge and uplift your spirit.
Kids. Children's ministry is a top priority of our church. We place only the best volunteers in the children's area . When you visit, we have a sign-in table for parents directly in the entryway of Whitt Elementary. Children and nursery age children meet there after the singing and praise to attend kid's church. (Matthew 19:14)
What to Wear. The style of dress is generally casual. Some choose jeans, others business casual. Regardless, we seek to honor God through worship time. Our main goal is seeing lives changed through Jesus Christ's work. Jesus seemed to focus on this aspect of truly seeking God by faith, whether he was engaging a person of one sub-culture or another.
Perfect People Not Allowed...
We don't have any room for 'perfect' people. Every Christ follower humbly pursues Jesus more closely. In fact, each day we strive to love God and grow.
God honors steps of faith in good time, so that each one makes progress. Christians accomplish change in life by God's unearned favor (which is what 'grace' means) in our life. That means God strengthens each one to reach greater vistas of spiritual maturity. (Philippians 3:12) But none of us is free from the need for God's grace on the journey.
How to Connect...
You want more than just a handshake type of church. There is real benefit from relating to people at a deeper level than that. It enriches your life and enables you to grow stronger in the Christian faith when you are around a bunch of Christ followers with different strengths and weaknesses. We plan small groups and fellowships that add an element to the church family experience.
What Next? Here's some good steps...
1. Come check out worship for a few weeks. This will give you a good feel what things are going on in the church family. It will also give you an opportunity to connect with some Christian friends.
2. If you like what you see visiting on Sundays, what then? There is a 'no pressure' class we offer that introduces who the church family is, where we're going, our mission and values. After a while of attending, this gives you a chance to ask your questions, explore the exciting way a new church has come together, and see more about our vision for growing in the future.
3. Visit a small group. Every small group is a place of godly encouragement and fellowship. We pick excellent teachers and host homes for these. If you want to experience more of what the Christian life is about, then praying together with others in a small group, and discussing the Bible together, are great ways to have meaningful friendships. Most people visit these after visiting for a while, but they are open to anyone wanting to grow in their faith.
See you this week in worship, grace to you!
